HOORAY! Today is MY day! I would like to thank Madam Samm from Sew We Quilt for creating this blog hop. Also, to Carol from Just Let Me Quilt for all her hard work in organizing the hop. Last, but certainly not least, to Regina Grewe for the use of her bowl pattern.
I am a fairly new quilter and this is one of my first paper-piecing projects. Regina's pattern went together quickly and easily. I'm 55 years young, married with a wonderful 16 year old son and live in Greensboro, NC. My favorite quilts are traditional and scrappy. I like the quilts of Bonnie Hunter, Judy Laquidara, and Esther Alieu, among others. Trying new techniques is really fun. I want to learn quilting on my DSM and different methods of applique. My favorite quilts right now are minis because they are easier to learn to quilt and don't take up much room.
Now, the part you've all been waiting for. My Project. I like antique stores and old-fashioned country style so I decided to make a wall hanging of a country cupboard. To me this means colorful, mis-matched dishes, old cups and teapots. I added a bit of lace on the shelves for a simple, feminine touch. Just a little bit of 3-D.
Here is a closeup of my colorful bowls. I wanted them to be bright and cheerful.
And my very feminine flowered teapot in my favorite color (purple) with my spring-like daisy cup.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my Bowls With Borders as much as I enjoyed making them. Here is a link to my fellow bloggers for today.
Blessings From Our Nest
